What you need to know about the surrogacy program

If you enter the program directly with biological parents

Medical tests and cycle

We recommend that you take medical tests. (This is an indicator of your willingness to join the surrogacy program) Here is a list of tests that need to be done:
HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, blood test, urine test, cytology, cardiogram. Fluorography
AND
Know your cycle. For several consecutive months, mark the first day of your period.

Biological parents

The next stage is the search of biological parents. To do this, you can use specialized websites, groups, and chats in social networks.

Agreement

The main document and your protection in the surrogacy program is an agreement. The agreement must be drawn up and signed before the first visit to a doctor.

The first agreement does not have to be notarized. However, by the time of embryo transfer, the agreement must be notarized.

It is important to discuss and describe all risks and compensations. Discussing the risks is the most difficult part. But this part of the agreement is the most essential.

First appointment in the clinic

Between the 7th and the 12th day of the cycle, the surrogate mother will have her first appointment in the clinic and do an ultrasound scan. If after the examination and ultrasound the doctor approves you for the program, you will have to do a package of medical tests.

Costs

Biological parents will pay all expenses for your examination, tests and travel to the clinic for the appointment.

Preparation

There are several types of preparation for the procedure, we will describe a long procedure at Diferilin:

Stimulation

If test results are good, with the doctor's approval, the stimulation can start between the 19th and 24th day of the cycle.

On the first day of the stimulation, you must have at least an internal agreement signed between you and the biological parents (the same agreement as the notarized one) and you will receive your first payment for starting taking hormones.

From now on, you will be taking medications (pills, injections, creams)
The second payment will be made on the day of embryo transfer and not a day later.

HCG test

On the 14th day after the transfer, HCG test is done and a day later it is done again to monitor growth.
If pregnancy is confirmed, monthly payments start on this day. (Your salary).

Ultrasound and pregnancy supervision

After confirming the pregnancy with HCG test, the doctor will prescribe an ultrasound scan done on the 25th day after the transfer. At this point, fetal heartbeat can already be detected.
After the ultrasound, the doctor will prescribe you supportive drugs and the biological parents will deal with your registration for pregnancy supervision.

Throughout the whole program, it is crucial to record all discussions. Communicate with the biological parents via correspondence or messaging. It is important that all agreements that you come to are recorded in the text form.
If you agreed on something verbally, write a message in a messenger. This way you and the biological parents will feel more secure.
We would like to remind you that the main document for the program is the agreement. And the whole program runs according to the conditions specified in it.

Childbirth

A document ensuring your financial security is a Birth Certificate issued to a woman in labor, i.e. SM.

On the second or third day after childbirth, by prior arrangement by the biological parents and a notary (this can be done at a notary office or the hospital) you will issue a notarized abandonment of the child that you birthed under the surrogacy program. You will give up the child together with the Certificate to the biological parents in exchange for the fee specified in the agreement.

If you are entering the program via an agency

Cycle

Medical examination

The agency will arrange your medical examination between the 7th and 12th day of your cycle. If you get a weird diagnosis, we would recommend getting a second opinion at a different clinic or your family doctor.
If you are physically healthy and meet the parameters, the agency will invite you to participate in the program with biological parents.

Costs

Biological parents have to compensate you for all the expenses associated with your travel to the clinic and medical examination and tests.
